Biography
Heart to Heart is an exciting mixed A Cappella quartet made up of
two married couples formed in 2003. They sing a wide variety of music
from Vocal Jazz, to Barbershop, to Contemporary Christian arrangements.
Tenor, Brad Charles, and Bass, Kirk Hyder, have been friends since
high school where they sang in their first Barbershop quartet together.
They competed in two other Barbershop quartets collecting multiple
District medals (Four Star Event and Center of Attention). Kirk met
wife Barb (Alto) while performing on a Sweet Adeline show together
in 1984 and they married in 1986. Brad met Nancy (Soprano) through
a mutual Barbershop friend and they married in 2001. Barb and Nancy
met while singing in the Sweet Adeline Regional medalist quartet,
Surefire.
Brad directs the Crosstown Harmony Sweet Adeline chorus (2004 and
2006 International Semi-Finalist) as well as the Milwaukee Festival
City Chorus men's chorus (2006 Land O'Lakes District Most Improved
Chorus). He sang in a Distirct Quartet Champion and International
Semi-Finalist quartet (Checkmate) and was a charter member of the
International Finalist Chorus the Midwest Vocal Express (MVE) from
Greendale, WI. Brad served on the MVE's Music Team for many years
before moving on to direct Crosstown Harmony. He also serves as choir
director for Plymouth Congregational Church in Racine, WI.
Nancy has competed with two internationally competing Sweet Adeline
Quartets (Cahoots and Surefire). She recently recorded a Christian
CD for LuthernaLiving Services called "He's Always Been Faithful."
Nancy serves as the soprano soloist at Plymouth Congregational Church
with Brad and she is a member of Crosstown Harmony.
Barb has competed in many quartets, two of which competed internationally
(All That Jazz, top 20 and Surefire). She is an Assistant Director
for Crosstown Harmony chorus and has served in numerous leadership
positions with both Sweet Adeline choruses and the Region 22 including
Education Coordinator and Region Team Coordinator. Barb serves as
a member of the Worship Praise choir at Northbrook Church in Richfield,
WI.
Kirk sings with the Midwest Vocal Express and has held many leadership
roles with MVE including President of the chapter and VP of Music.
Kirk's accolades include winning a District Quartet Championship and
top 20 finish at International (both with Jackpot!) and has acquired
three 5th place International Finalist medals with MVE. He serves
as Worship Leader and sings with Barb at Northbrook Church.
In August of 2006, Heart to Heart competed at the Buckeye Invitational
contest for mixed quartets held in Columbus, OH and won first place.
They produced their debut CD, "Lucky Day" in 2005 and are
in the process of recording a Christmas CD for the 2007 holiday season.
Heart to Heart uses a portion of the funds they earn to contribute
to the Patti Monroe Cancer Research Foundation and to sponsor Susana
Ramirez Severiano who resides in an orphanage in Puebla, Mexico led
by Living Hope International. The quartet thanks you for your support
of these endeavors.
